About Dorothy Waldt

Dorothy Waldt entered the executive search world in 2002 following a successful 20+ year career in women’s wholesale apparel. After years of working in the Global Retail/Consumer practices at some of the world’s leading executive search firms, she recognized a disconnect between the needs of her clients and standard policies of the search industry. In 2013, she founded DWC, a viable alternative to mainstream retained executive search firms with the promise of transparency, flexibility and hands-on service. She continues to specialize in digital, e-commerce, retail, wholesale, consumer products and professional services and has clients in the US, Canada and Central America.

Prior to founding DWC, Dorothy was a Managing Director at Herbert Mines Associates (HMA) where she successfully led numerous projects for a diverse set of clients, ranging from internet start-ups to Global Fortune 100 companies. She joined HMA from CTPartners, where she was a Partner in the firm’s Global Retail/Consumer practice. In addition to completing dozens of VP to C-Level assignments, Dorothy was a member of the firm’s Quality Committee and participated in several cross-border collaborations with her partners in Europe and Asia. Her prior search experience includes Kirk Palmer Associates, a boutique retail search firm, and Highland Partners, the executive search division of The Hudson Highland Group that was acquired by Heidrick & Struggles in 2006.  The foundation for her success in the search industry has been built on her consistent delivery of high quality client service, hands-on attention to every project, and a proven track record of accurate candidate assessment and culture fit.

Dorothy began her career in the women’s wholesale apparel industry where she owned and operated a luxury apparel and accessory showroom representing a number of European brands. Before getting into executive search, she was the CEO of a skin care start-up.

A graduate of the State University of New York/Purchase, Dorothy resides in New Jersey with her husband and two children.
